Lila Umstead’s desire to be a cross stitch designer came into fruition when the Architecture firm she was employed at for many years closed its doors in 2008. She saw this as an opportunity to pursue her passion as a designer and used her love for painting, drawing, and architecture to form Lila Studio.
Many of her designs originate with small sketches, and then develop into patterns. Her cross stitch designs are traditional samplers, Fraktur and Quaker inspired, and Seasonal themed samplers.
